First Get Involved Award - Sponsored by Steve Young
We have officially launched our first Get Involved Award and we are proud to announce that San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame Quarterback Steve Young is sponsoring it! This award seeks to recognize high school students who contribute in meaningful ways to the community. By doing so, we hope to inspire more teens to do good for their communities through volunteer work.
Currently, Get Involved Foundation offers an internship program and presidential service award program. The former helps teens start long-term service projects of their own from scratch to completion, which can take upwards of 200 hours. The latter seeks to guide students who wish to obtain the presidential award and we provide a plan for them to complete their goals. The Get Involved Award is the first of its kind and furthers our mission by recognizing youth in the community for their contributions.
In order to apply for the Get Involved Award, you must be a high school student and be able to provide verification of at least 30 hours of community service work. Then, students are able to choose between creating a 2-3 minute video describing their project, or a 300-650 word essay. An optional letter of recommendation can also strengthen your application. We will review applications on a rolling basis and the fall award deadline is 12/19/20.
Apply today for a chance to get recognized for your dedication to improving your local community. Winners will receive a certificate, pin, recognition, and a valuable addition to college applications and resumes. Start your application now at tinyurl.com/gifaward!
