Sania Ahmad – Spring 2021 Award Recipient
Our second Get Involved Award recipient of the spring 2021 cohort is Sania Ahmad, a junior at Plano West Senior High in Plano, Texas. Sania is the co-founder of a youth-led organization named Revive that focuses on mental health.
Sania initially decided to start this project after experiences with her own mental health. Especially when high school came, her mental health declined, and constantly found herself without motivation to get work done. However, she was struck with inspiration after finding out about Swab4USA, a youth-led organization dedicated to bone marrow.
As a result, Sania decided to put together her interest in pursuing business with art and mental health to create Revive, which aims to empower herself and others to fight mental health. Revive launched on September 5th and since then, they have been able to share 100+ stories over social media and their website. Additionally, they have held events like a two-day conference over bullying that included 6 mental health professional speakers and 6 live performers. Their team has grown from the co-founders to over 50 GenZ mental health advocates and continues to grow.
Through Revive, Sania has learned valuable skills such as leadership, management, and creative advocacy. As a result, she has gotten much closer to her passion for art and learned to value her mental health. Read more about Revive at https://revivementalhealth.org/.
